Deborah Stone owns and operates Stone Veterinary Practice Management (StoneVPM) based in Austin, Texas.
Deborah has been involved with veterinary practice management for more than twenty years and has experience in specialty, emergency and general practice management. She also brings several years of experience from the hospitality industry to the veterinary industry in order to provide fresh and creative solutions.
Deborah's presentations are energetic and highly interactive in order to encourage team buy-in and to help support the implementation of developed practice solutions. Her strategy is to encourage team participation in order to make a positive impact in practice processes. Deborah believes the most effective way to make positive change is by developing solutions together.
She received her MBA at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas and earned her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager accreditation from the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Deborah is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership Studies.
Deborah devotes much of her time towards community service activities and holds memberships with American Animal Hospital Association, Veterinary Hospital Managers Association, Capital Area Animal Hospital Managers Association, Society of Human Resource Management, VetPartners, and Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
She also enjoys spending time with her family, Mortie and Purr Boxx.
ACUvet Logistics Coordinator: Regina Kavanagh
Regina M. Kavanagh, RN, CGRN is originally from upstate NY, however she has called Austin, Texas her home for the last 32 years. She spent 12 years as a veterinary technician and office staff employee and went to nursing school full-time the last 2 years of her veterinary career. Regina worked at St. David's hospital in the medical/surgical, oncology, renal, cardiac, post-partum, rehab, and endoscopy areas of the hospital. She is currently employed at Austin Gastroenterology/Austin Endoscopy as the clinical nurse manager of one of the endoscopy centers and is a certified registered nurse in the field of gastroenterology. She also attends St. Edward's University, working towards a BBS and eventually a MBA. Mark has been her husband, partner, and best friend for 30 years and they have 3 spoiled and fun felines.
ACUvet Director of Marketing: Judy Nied, CVA, VDT
Judy studied Veterinary Technology/Animal Health Management at Sul Ross State University. She graduated from the VMC school of Veterinary Practice Management and is currently employed as the practice manager for Buttercup Veterinary Hospital in Cedar Park, TX. She is the founder and president of the Capital Area Veterinary Technician Association that provides free continuing education opportunities to the veterinary support teams in Austin and surrounding areas. In her spare time, she enjoys vintage shopping and live music. Judy and her boyfriend, Adam, are the very proud parents of a toy poodle named "P.J." and a very spunky kitty named "Lotus Flower".
ACUvet Administrative Assistant: Leah Manning
Leah has been in the veterinary profession for more than 10 years. Before entering the veterinary field as a receptionist, she worked several years in the high-tech industry. Leah’s current position as a Client Service Director at Brodie Animal Hospital, allows her to work with clients and team members as well as love on puppies and kittens. Some of her personal interests include horseback riding, dancing, and pet-sitting. |
